Woman dressed in witch costume with Halloween decorations

Trick-or-treating is a week away and you don’t have a costume yet? Don’t worry! We’ve got a few easy, last-minute ideas you can put together at home using SEXYMODEST CLOTHES.

Why make a costume out of your favorite modest clothing, you ask? Here are just a few reasons why it might be the best idea you’ll ever have:

  1. We don’t know if you heard, but there’s a costume shortage going on right now due to shipping delays. But here at SexyModest, we can ship your items right away so you get them within a couple of days. (Take that, Amazon!)
  2. It can be a bummer to spend a lot of time and money on an outfit you’re only going to wear for a few hours. Buuuuuut when you make an outfit out of cute clothes you already have, you can wear them long after the Halloween candy is gone.
  3. You’ll be cute, comfy, and covered for whatever fun festivities the holiday brings.

To get you started, here are some simple, do-it-yourself costumes you can throw together in a pinch.

A riveting costume with a cargo jumper

What woman doesn’t want to dress up as the classic, bicep-bearing Rosie the Riveter for Halloween? It’s become a popular choice in recent years — and for good reason! It’s simple, it’s good-looking, and it’s empowering to women. You can’t go wrong. All it takes is a cargo jumper, a bandana to pull up those long locks out of your face, and a dash of red lipstick.

    What you’ll need:

A villain with a little swing

How perfect is this Cruella DeVille costume created by our SexyModest Ambassadors? Thanks to Disney’s new film, Cruella has resurfaced as a favorite villain — and an uber popular costume idea. This one isn’t quite as low-maintenance as some of the other options on the list, but it’s worth it if you’re willing to put in the extra effort!

    What you’ll need:

    • Brigitte Brianna Swing Dress
    • Black and white wig (or temporary hair coloring)
    • A faux-fur wrap
    • Elbow-length gloves
    • A stuffed dalmatian (optional)

    The most comfortable leopard ever

    Girl wearing leopard print sweats

Maybe you’re the type of gal who prefers something cute but super minimalistic. If so, this is about as simple as it gets! Throw on these leopard print pants with the matching hoodie, draw a little black nose and whiskers on your face and voila! You’ve got yourself an adorable leopard that’s ready to chill for the weekend.

    What you’ll need:

A sea witch in all her splendor

Here’s another Disney villain brought to you by the SexyModest Ambassadors: Ursula the Sea Witch. Don’t worry about fussing over octopus tentacles because Ursula is stepping up her glamor game here in the gorgeous Brigitte Brianna Splendor Dress. But you can still look plenty formidable with a good wig and some bold makeup.

    What you’ll need:

    The cutest storybook princess overall

If you prefer to play the princess instead of the villain, you can copy this great idea from @myownfashionwayz who pulled off an adorable Snow White outfit with SexyModest pieces. Brilliant and adorable!

    What you’ll need:

    An easy-peasy skeleton

A skeleton is perhaps one of the most classic (and easy!) Halloween costumes out there. For a spooky, scary skeleton that will send shivers down your spine, all you really need is a black long-sleeve shirt and black pants with a little white duct tape. Sure, you could go the extra mile and actually try to draw real skeleton bones or use an iron-on transfer if you’re feeling ambitious. But for a quick and easy costume, straight duct tape lines work great! (Glow sticks are another cool option.)

    What you’ll need:

    A black-tie ready witch

Woman with long black hair wearing a long black dress

In case you haven’t figured it out by now, you can really crack the Halloween costume code with any basic black outfit. But this look is anything but basic. Throw on a fancy, long black dress, don a black wig (or hair coloring), dab on a little white face paint and red lipstick, and you’ll be the classiest Morticia Addams doppelgänger at this year’s party!

    What you’ll need:

    A spirited ceiling fan

We love a good pun as much as the next person, and this may be one of our favorites when it comes to punny costumes. Dress up as a “ceiling fan” by wearing our Varsity Dress, grabbing some pom-poms and sticking the words “GO CEILINGS” on the dress or writing it on your face. El oh el.

    What you’ll need:

    A drop-dead gorgeous corpse bride

    Woman dressed as skeleton bride

Knock ‘em all dead with a killer corpse bride look! All it takes is a beautiful, lacey white dress (we know just the one!), a veil and some face paint. (Just be sure to take the face paint off before you remove the dress!)

    What you’ll need:

A night out as a classic Hollywood icon

    Audrey Hepburn

Nothing is more iconic than dressing up as the ultra classy Audrey Hepburn in her “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” garb. If you want to put your own modest spin on the Holly Golightly look, look no further because we’ve got a plethora of modest black dresses to choose from! The Night Out dress works great, but you could also opt for any number of our other dresses.

    What you’ll need:

Queen of hearts with a red dress

Guess we’re not done with the Disney villains because here’s one more for you: the Queen of Hearts! For the last-minute DIY version, all you need is a red dress, a collar made from stapled playing cards, and some bright red lipstick. You can zazz it up with a homemade heart staff or any other heart accessories you might have lying around.

    What you’ll need:

    A not-so-grim reaper

Woman wearing long sleeve black dress with hood

This one is so ridiculously easy, we don’t even have to say much about it. Grab our Hibernation Dress, put up the hood, get a long stick with a curved edge and BOOM — grim reaper, baby. But way, way cuter than you’re used to seeing.

    What you’ll need:

    A famous intergalactic princess

Speaking of ridiculously easy… Got any Star Wars fans in the house? Because this Princess Leia costume takes the cake for a brilliant, out-of-this-world (pardon the pun) costume that will take 3 MINUTES to put together — depending on how fast you can twist your hair into those classic side buns. Simply throw on a white turtleneck dress, cinch it with a belt, twist those buns and grab a spare blaster if you happen to have one.

    What you’ll need:

    Create your own SexyModest costume!
